Before some time, Heart Attacks were more likely to be seen in people above the age of 50.

Now, the number of heart attacks among youngsters has increased in the past few years.

Heart Attack Among Youngsters : Heart Attack Causes

When the blood flow to the heart is blocked, that time the Heart Attack occurs. It lessens the amount of oxygen that reaches the heart. Due to the buildup of fat, cholesterol and other substances, the blockage happens. It is commonly known as Atherosclerosis. This growth of fat and other things starts at a young age, hence everyone should be extra careful and take records of the warning signs.

Many risk factors could be a cause of increased incidence of heart attacks among young people. One of them is the change in lifestyle, which includes:

High Blood Pressure: Stress is one of the main factors of high blood pressure. Though, an inactive lifestyle, obesity and excessive alcohol consumption are other factors that cause high blood pressure among young people. Exercise makes a healthy body and fit mind. Everyone must start exercising at a young. People suffering from high blood pressure have high chances of a heart attack. Increased blood pressure narrows downs the arteries. Damaged and narrowed arteries struggle to supply blood to the heart. Thus, the amount of oxygen also decreases. It is the reason for chest pain or a heart attack.

High Cholesterol: It is usually seen that young people sustain an unhealthy and poor diet. Young people found “Ready-to-eat food packets” and “junk food” very convenient.

Cholesterol enters your body through foods like fatty meat, deep-fried foods, full-fat dairy products, pizzas, hamburgers, noodles, etc. Thus, this cholesterol in the body causes atherosclerosis, which blocks the flow of blood to the heart. High levels of cholesterol can increase the risks of a heart attack.

Type 2 Diabetes: Diabetic people are more inclined to heart diseases than any other person. There are more risks of diabetic patients to develop heart diseases. Type 2 diabetes patients have more chances of a heart attack. The blood vessels can be damaged due to high blood glucose, over a period of time. The chances of a heart attack are high for the one who has type 2 diabetes for so long.

Smoking: When you breathe in cigarette smoke, the blood that is circulated to the rest of the body converts infected with the smoke’s chemicals. These chemicals can damage your heart and blood vessels. It can lead to cardiovascular disease. In addition to permanently damaging your heart and blood vessels, cigarette smoke can also cause Cardiovascular disease CVD by changing your blood chemistry and causing plaque. It is a waxy substance comprised of cholesterol, scar tissue, calcium, fat, and other material, which helps to build up in the arteries, the major blood vessels that carry blood from your heart to your body. This plaque buildup can lead to a disease called atherosclerosis.

When the chemicals in cigarette smoke cause atherosclerosis and thickened blood in the arteries, it becomes more difficult for blood cells to move through arteries and other blood vessels to get to vital organs like the heart and brain. This can create blood clots and ultimately lead to a heart attack or stroke, even death.

There is a report of the survey that shows the average number of people start smoking at the age of 18. Communicative change and peer pressure are the major reasons for people to start smoking at a very young age. Smoking can cause other different diseases as well.  In common words we can say that the nicotine in smoke reduces the amount of oxygen that reaches the heart, raising blood pressure, raising heart rate, forms blood clots and damages the blood vessels and becomes the reason for heart attack

One must take care of oneself. Everyone should take extra precautions for their lifestyle and food habits. Now, as we know of the factors that could lead up to a heart attack, we must be extra cautious. If you find any symptom or warning signs, you should consult a doctor immediately. for more information
